About

EdIntersect is a woman-owned small business providing consulting services for leading global development organizations. Based in the Research Triangle of North Carolina, USA, the firm draws on a seasoned academic-practitioner network both domestic and international to take action at the intersections of education and multiple sectors of global development. Together, we create meaningful and effective solutions with our partners. EdIntersect was founded to meet the need for an approach to educational development that takes into account multiple factors: gender, ethnicity, age, language group, location, ability, etc. that make up an individual's membership in multiple communities. At a sectoral level, the meeting points of education, gender, health, technology, and multiple other sectors of development call also for focused analysis and action. Among the research approaches EdIntersect employs, human-centered design is a key tool for addressing client needs. The target population's needs and opportunities are the central drivers and a rapid prototyping phase allows for more effective program strategy and monitoring/evaluation planning. In our service areas, Strategy, Research & Analysis, Toolkits & Curriculum, and Evaluation, we create products collaboratively, effectively, and rapidly. We work in education and its intersections in thematic focus areas such as: girls' and women's education and empowerment, gender equality, school-related gender-based violence, adolescence and youth, school transitions, reading and literacy across the life cycle, parent and community engagement, early childhood, technology, mentorship, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
